Barbie Means Business

I have always wanted a nice pair of bright colored jeans but never really found just the right color I was looking for. Until this pair of Barbie pink high waist jeans caught my eye while shopping in Tel Aviv. It was already toward the end of my trip and I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything else but when a fantastic sale comes around, you just can’t say “no.” I got these babies on sale for 50% off and I don’t regret one penny (or sheqel in my case). They are such a wonderful fit, made of 97% cotton and 3% elastane, these jeans hug my curves yet give me some breathing room at the same time. Colored jeans are wonderful for color blocking, which was the original plan for this outfit. But when I realized that the trimming on this blouse was almost an exact match to the color of the jeans, it just seemed like a no-brainier to pair them up.

I purchased this blouse just yesterday and it has quickly become one of my most favorite pieces. The black and white pattern mixed with that barbie pink just looks so sweet. I also like that it has a lovely little collar. It’s smaller than most collars so it looks less “grandma” than the average chiffon collared shirt. I usually never wear my hair up but I felt that if my hair were down it would cover the beautiful detail on the blouse. I also really miss doing fun stuff to my hair and this ‘do is actually an original that I like to call “Le Croissant” (because it looks like a croissant).

I wasn’t quite sure which shoes to pair up with this outfit at first but the collared blouse looks like something you could wear to the office and these patent leather Oxfords are so professional-looking so I felt they’d be a great match. I seriously have a thing for Oxfords, I have about five different pairs of them but I don’t see myself ceasing to buy them in the near future. They’re just the perfect combination of sweetness and poise.

I must say, this particular outfit is definitely on the list of my top five favorite Flash-Worthy Threads to date. Hope you enjoyed this one as much as I did!
