Queen Helene Triple Whipped Cleansing Cream Review

Dehydrated skin is something that millions of people struggle with every day. It can be difficult to treat but if it goes untreated, it can quickly lead to irritation, blotchy areas, itchiness and even send you on the fast track to wrinkleville (uh oh!) There are plenty of products you can use and things you can do in order to keep your skin moisturized and comfortable but it’s all about making your skincare routine a habit. In order for you to truly gain the benefits that a specific product is offering, you’d have to continue using it. The reality of it is that people lose interest when they don’t see results right away so instead of sticking to a routine, they gradually go astray and buy a new product that they think will work better. While this may keep the skincare companies happy, it’s probably making your wallet weep.
I came across Queen Helene’s Triple Whipped Cleansing Cream because I was looking for something to quench my thirsty skin since the microdermabrasion session I had a couple of weeks ago left my skin feeling parched. Queen Helene is famous for their Mint Julep Mask but I was looking for something far more gentle. I decided to give this cleanser a try and I’m quite happy with the results. I only use it about twice a week (because it’s pretty heavy duty) but it filled in the cracks I had in my skin from being so dehydrated and now my skin is feeling comfortable, soft and I can even notice the difference when I apply makeup. When my skin was dry, the makeup would always cling to the dry patches but that doesn’t happen anymore. I wouldn’t say that my skin is where I’d like it to be but it’s definitely on the right track and not only can I see the difference but I can feel the softness in my skin as well. I also enjoy the scent it leaves behind (it kind of smells like rich-old-lady). I wouldn’t say it’s a strong scent but it is noticeable so if you’re annoyed by that sort of thing then this product probably isn’t for you.
After I purchased this cleanser, I looked up other reviews on it to see what others thought and everyone’s main complaint was that it was very hard to remove. I’d have to disagree and I honestly think it’s because people weren’t reading the directions on the back of the jar. Being that this is a cream, you can’t just remove it by rubbing your hands against your skin (like you would with an average cleanser). The directions on the jar instruct that you should use a washcloth to remove the creamy substance and that’s exactly what I did. The product comes off quite easily and it’s also a wonderful makeup remover. It will leave a faint moisturizing residue on your skin (which I don’t mind because it acts like a moisturizer) but you can always rinse that off with a daily cleanser.
To use: Gently wet your face then dry your hands and dip your clean hand into the jar and grab a dollop of the product (about a marble-size) and start massaging it into your skin. Do this for at least two minutes. If you’re afraid the product might cause your skin to breakout then only massage it into the parts of your skin that are clearly dry. If you’re about to shower, you can actually put this stuff on your face before you step in the shower and wash it off toward the end of your shower. The steam from your shower will help the product enter your skin more directly. Remember, you’d have to use a washcloth to remove the product from your face. I like to wet the washcloth with warm water and start by gently removing the product from my forehead and working my way down. If you’re uncomfortable with the residue that this product may leave behind, go ahead and rinse your face with a gentle facial cleanser (so as not to wash too much of the moisture away).
I don’t recommend this product to be used by people who have acne prone skin only because the oils it contains may cause a breakout. However, if you are struggling with dehydrated or irritated skin I really think you should give it a try. It’s very affordable and that big tub should last you an eon or two.
