Structure V. Destruction

I’ve always loved the look of collared blouses. They have such a classic feel to them; one of those pieces that I feel will never go out of style. I decided to put a little twist on this particular blouse by placing studs on the collar. This was the first studding job I’ve ever done and I remember feeling surprised at how simple the process was. I will admit that working with the smaller studs is a bit tricky, mainly because they kept falling out of my hand. Nevertheless, these tiny studs add a ton of style to this otherwise simple shirt. I absolutely love the versatility of this top; I dressed it down with this outfit by pairing it with denim but you could easily dress it up by tucking it into a pair of trousers. It’s also made of my favorite fabric, cotton, so it’s a pleasantly breathable top.
I thought it’d be fun to pair something fairly structured (the blouse) with some distressed denim. I often love pairing opposing styles together. I actually just made these jeans about a week ago (If you’d like to make your own pair, read the DIY article here). These were a lot of fun to make and it obviously always makes me happy when I’m saving money by making something myself instead of buying it. Also, distressed denim has been heavily trending this season so by making them myself I’m able to be a part of the trend while still expressing my own creativity. I definitely recommend you try making your own pair this summer, it only takes about an hour and you’ll feel so proud by the time you finish up!
